Terms of Service
Last updated: August 27, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Aora Social, Inc. ("Aora," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Aora app, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Aora. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using Aora, you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Your account
You are responsible for your account and everything that happens under it. Keep your credentials secure. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account. One account per person.
3. Your content
You own the content you post. By posting content on Aora, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the app, including showing it to other users.
You are responsible for what you post. Do not post content you don't have the right to share.
4. Prohibited content and conduct
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post or engage in:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of any person
- Hate speech or content that demeans people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Nudity, sexually explicit content, or sexual solicitation
- Content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors in any way
- Violence, threats of violence, or glorification of violence
- Impersonation of any person or misrepresentation of your identity
- Doxxing or sharing another person's private information without consent
- Spam, scams, or commercial solicitation
- Content promoting self-harm, eating disorders, or drug sales
- Attempts to circumvent moderation, blocks, or eligibility requirements
5. Moderation, reporting, and blocking
Aora provides tools to report content and users and to block other users. Blocked users cannot view or interact with your content.
We review reports and act on objectionable content within 24 hours, including removing the content and ejecting the user who posted it where warranted. We may remove any content or suspend or terminate any account at our discretion, with or without notice, if we believe these Terms have been violated.
6. Group conversations and invite links
Group conversations hold up to 50 people. The person who creates a group is its admin, can remove members, and can pass that role to another member; if the admin leaves, it passes to the longest-standing member. Being removed from a group ends your access to it.
Aora lets you create invite links to share your content or invite friends. A link you create is public to anyone who receives it: whoever holds it can see a preview of the content it points to and can use it to join. Only share links with people you mean to reach.
7. Ratings and leaderboards
Aora includes engagement scoring and leaderboards. Scores are computed from activity on the platform. Attempting to manipulate ratings or scores through fake accounts, coordinated activity, or other artificial means is prohibited.
8. Purchases
Some features may require payment through Apple's in-app purchase system. All purchases are final except as required by law or Apple's refund policies.
9. Termination
You can stop using Aora and delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content license for already-distributed content, disclaimers, limitations of liability, disputes) survive.
10. Disclaimers
Aora is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Content on Aora is created by users; we are not responsible for user content, though we moderate it as described above.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aora Social, Inc. and its officers, directors, and employees are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of Aora. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Aora harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the app, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
